Jungle Lore Lodge: Excellent location and very pleasant stay. Staff was very good as was the food - some of the best food of the trip. Bird hide on the premises was a plus. Probably our favorite place, with Chambal a close second

On this 3 nights trip in 2017, Asian Adventures gave me a chance to indulge in a great birding experience. I recommend it for all nature and outdoor lovers, not only because the guides are so well-versed with the region and its bird-spotting locations, but also for the amazing hospitality Asian Adventures had arranged for us. The Jungle Lore birding Lodge where we were made to stay was so very well selected by this trip planner. I have earlier been to India for birding through a different operator in 2014. And I must stay Asian Adventures left me with memories of a lifetime.

I really enjoyed my stay at Pangot Jungle lore. The service and food were excellent. Five star for both. I would particularly like to highlight service of nature guide Mr. Mahesh. He is very polite and generous. Not at all greedy. He helped me and guided me for the bird watching. I would like to come again to go once more on birding tour with Mahesh.

Stayed for  03 days, enjoyed the serene atmosphere full of trees and birds, cherishing throughout the day, the accommodation is full of antique architecture not missing any comfort and facility, the hospitality is at the height of pleasure and respect. The food is a blend of time and taste, an option to visit again will be a happiness to say.

A must trip for birdwatchers, thee stay was very pleasant, homely food, also provide local dishes there, there is a hideout to watch birds. We also spotted a deer that came to drink water. It's the homely experience in the hill station. We hope to come back here someday.

Hi, My name is Feroz, and I came from Mumbai in this lockdown to Nainital. Here we found this lovely place in Pangot called Jungle Lore Birding Lodge. It is 15 kilometers from Nainital. How we chilled out in nature and enjoyed the place like nobody's business. Beautiful lodge, service, food, and views.

We travelled from Lucknow during these funny times to  Jungle Lore Birding Lodge and now we feel it was our best decision for a jungle holiday. The accommodations are excellent and food is mouth-watering. We will visit again.

The staff took great care of us with extreme politeness and respect. We didn't have to worry about any precautions at the resort as they were looking into every angle of safety.

If you're looking to literally step into a slow, peaceful life-mind, body, and soul. This place is your cheat code. Waking up to a beautiful sight in the mountains to the sound of Magpies and laughing thrushes, it felt like living in my dream life even if temporarily.
 

This is the best getaway from the outside materialistic world I could ever think of. There can be nothing better than waking up in a beautiful cottage in the middle of a dense quiet forest with a mug of coffee in your hand to the chirping of birds. You will not wish to have once you arrive at this place. There is a huge variety I the species of the birds you get to see at Jungle Lore. I wish to revisit this place for a longer space of time bringing with me a good amount of memories to remember.

Hospitality at its best. The service and caretaker at this remote mountain resort is simply fabulous. Keep up the good work. Birchy focus is the best. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Bob deserves an award for protecting us from the monkeys.

Wonderful ecofriendly resort in the middle of quiet. We came to see birds, and got tons of them. Including two hill partridges rooshing just outside of Khalij Cottage on the first evening of our stay here. Mahesh was very good at helping us spot and identify birds one day-long guided tour. Bhuvan & staff were terrific at meeting our needs. Pus, the food was very good and a source of unexpected delight.

We loved everything, each and everything was awesome from stay to eatable and behaviors. The way they behaved and did to us all things we loved it, but the only thing was the room phone to contact any person for any need, like room service and for any contact to the person for service. It is the best thing to think.

It's been a wonderful stay. Everything from the location of the property, rooms, staff, and food all have been top-notch. We only came to witness the snowfall. However, fell in love with this place. I wish to thank the Asian Adventures Team for the excellent holiday my cousin and I had at Jungle Lore Birding Lodge at Pangot, Uttrakhand. It was a tough and rugged place for us, two senior citizens. But what made it so unforgettable are the beautiful birds all around and the kind and caring staff, who attended to all our needs. After a few marginal additions to the property are made to make it more disabled-friendly, I would highly recommend it for senior citizens with minor disabilities.

Excellent stay. Very courteous and helpful staff. The food was wholesome and good. The room/cottage had plenty of characters with lovely windows and electrical switches reminding are of childhood (Marten). It would be wonderful if the hide were brought to a table-level with visitors enclosure fully covered with queen cloth like a room with a camera rest at the same level as that of the hide floor. 
The library can be stacked with books on birding (Indian Birds) along with books such as Kumaon and a book by Jim Corbett and other travel books.

Complete bliss. Even in navaratri when we have our fast, the service here was very good. We got personalised Navratri food of our choice. The stay was so nice that it will be with us forever. What a wonderful place to stay. Very kind hospitality made it a home away from home. The room was full of rustic charm, a very comfortable. The food was excellent of course. I came here for the birds, and this is an ideal place to stay, and with the help of resident Mahesh, I have seen many special things. My only complaint: as I have been out in the field for long hours, I have not been able to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the lodge, or sit on my verandah soafas up the peace as much as I would have liked too!! 
But that is my fault 😊. Yet another reason to come back...

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the lodge. The staff is really courteous and helpful. Mr. Bhuvan was present to handle any queries or guide us with things to do. His team also organized a short tour for birdwatching. The food here was extremely tasty and homely too. We also got to taste some local delicacies, jam, chutney, and Rhodendron juice. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend everyone to stay at the lodge for a relaxing time.

My daughter came here the 2nd time. For her things and hosts were very familiar. We had a very comfortable stay of 3 days the place is very calm and quiet. The only regret is that we should have visited and stayed in Sept/ Oct to see mine of birds. Anyway, very cozy and comfortable lodge. The hosts were very cordial and went out of their way to fulfill our needs. I wish to come again maybe next year God permitting. The food was very tasty. God bless and thanks a lot

This is one of the best stays, I had anywhere. We enjoyed the lovely cottages, thoughtfully and aesthetically furnished, very well maintained the wonderful ambiance of the birds, and great food. The exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.

Suggestion: In Khalij cottage, it would be great to put mask windows (like in Koklass) in the bathroom, ie we can keep a window open for ventilation to dry it out. Similarly if one of the back windows in the room has a mesh window, it can be a little ventilated. Otherwise perfect!

Beautiful cottage and serene location. We stayed in the Cheer cottage and absolutely enjoyed our stay. It was not only an enjoyable experience for us but also our old parents, 06 yrs old kid and a baby. The baby loved being outdoors in-between nature. Although its a rainy season but still enjoyed it. Have always loved to come, but monsoons brought dampness in the room attic beds. Think the room beds are new. Stayed here in 2022 and your food services remain top-notch. Kudos but please make the dampness not dampen the experience!!

The place is tranquil and witnesses serene beauty. It is raw in terms of untapped beauty. However, monsoons dampened the spirit. The bugs and insects in the rooms spuke us and leeches were scary too. But otherwise all in all, it was a great experience. Not to mention the food was delectable, too. Thanks for the experience!!!

Jungle Lore is lovely - wonderful birding, delicious food, and most especially warm welcoming staff. We found the staff to be very generous. Wonderful experience - the place is very rustic, so there are a lot of birds making it a birding paradise. The staff is very hospitable and supportive. The food is also delicious. We tried the local cuisine which was excellent.

This is the first time we visit this place and it was wonderful to experience. The view is very mesmerizing, very peace place but we faced poor wifi connectivity at marten cottage. Food is like home food. The staff is very kind and supportive.

We were pleasantly surprised when we came for dinner tonight and saw that candles were lit, the cake was kept ready and there was a mini celebration.... all because we happen to mention to Mahesh ji, in the passing that it was our wedding anniversary!

What a wonderful place to explore the unique landscape and bird life from here. This wild garden allows the observation of numerous species of birds. The staff is extremely friendly and always tries to fulfill all the wishes of the guests so many reasons to come back here and feel at home.

This is my second visit to Pangot and stayed in Jungle Lore for the first time. The Khalij cottage amidst high trees and total seclusion is something out/ in the world. Though it would keep rainy still we were able to spot 10-12 species of birds in Jungle Lore itself. The food will make you forget your home. The staff is so courteous that you don't want to leave with a promise to return again and again.

This was one of the best trips of our life. Food/cottage/forest/hospitality / people-staff / All are beautiful. Our dog was the happiest we have ever seen him.

Wonderful experience. The property is Very well maintained. No Plastic was used this is of great test. The hide-route zone and watching birds were really wonderful.

Through its a flash visit but this flash enlightens our view and experience. From the place where the temperature was boiling, the stay here with mother nature was refreshing. The approach was somewhat troublesome as we were forced to take the alternative route bypassing the Nainital, but overall the destination, hidden like a gem in the dense lush green forest at such height, wiped all our tiredness. the staff especially at reception were not only helpful but their million-dollar smile is forcing us to visit this place very soon.

The stay was nice, but a lot of music from adjacent resorts. Very much liked the bird hide and the food was amazing. A lot of greenery and beautiful rooms. Met Jagjeevan who enlightened us about the flora and fauna of the place. Suggestion: Nature walks are complimentary to all guests.

Since we are senior citizens, it was a big challenge for us to come up from bottommost point to dining. There was no mention of the level of attitude of the resorts in the web page (E.g Agoda through which we booked the lodge. It is advised to mention this without fail on the website.

Jungle Lore Birding Lodge is a beautiful bunch of cottages, a few kilometres from Nainital, tucked up in the mountains. Nice little place, away from all the hustle and bustle. Very peaceful atmosphere. You can feel the crispness of air in every breath. Surrounding mountains, chirping birds and rustling leaves of giant trees, remind you that you are also part of nature.

We had a stay for two days. Tejpal ji, Kundan and the rest of the staff made sure our stay was comfortable and pleasant. We didn't get the feel of commercial hotels. Rather the humble and skillful staff members went out of their way to make us feel at home. The food was Excellent, homely and scrumptious. We went for small nature trails with Kundan. He has a deep knowledge of birds and their surroundings. There is a small library. The books will interest nature lovers and bird watchers. Basking under the sun on a chilly winter morning with a book in your hand and a hot cup of tea is total bliss.

Tucked away in the middle of nowhere, getting here was half the adventure. Google Map got confused, but the road signs came to our rescue. 
Once we arrived we were greeted with pure solitude. No crowds, no distractions, just the kind of quiet we were looking for.
And on of the best parts were the warm, welcoming staff. No matter how many times Tanweer Alam asked for chai, they brought it with a smile.

 A great place for birding and solitude, if you are looking for. There a lot of birds within the lodge itself, is surrounded by trees, so photographers/birders have a lot to look around for. Staff is very warm and will go an extra mile to make the stay very comfortable. The birding tour done with the staff was really amazing, Kundan has good knowledge of area and birds. Beautiful property with such noise-free environment, greenery everywhere, amazing place to stay.

The cheer cottage where we stayed was perfect in every aspect, except that there was a persistent smell in the bathroom. This may be due to a problem with the plumbing connection to the septic tank, which needs to be checked and corrected.

We have been to Jungle Lore Birding Lodge before and are sure that we will be there again soon. Set in a minimally disturbed forest area,  for any nature lover its undoubtedly the most preferred place to stay while in Pangot.  The team, led by Bhuwan (an ardent nature lover himself) is extremely courteous and helpful. They love what they are doing. We, of course, had a wonderful birding experience with the help of Kundan, the resort's naturalist.

Very beautiful place to relax to watch birds. The property is well maintained The property is well maintained. The service is also good & the food quality is also good & the food quality is the best. It feels like we are having homemade food. It's very peaceful.

The design and location of lodges are excellent. Balcony of Cheer offered views of birds who came out on treetops to enjoy the sun. Khalij offered an excellent viewing of woodpeckers and other birds in the tall woods. Monkey menace needs to be taken care of as that disturbs birds and the birders. I had to shift from Khalij to cheer due to monkeys creating havoc on the roof. Cleanliness in the rooms needs improvement.
