To have a proper understanding of the village life of the Kumaon region, the idea of village trekking has come into existence. One can choose a night stay in a village home to experience the simple and ancient culture followed by the villagers.

Slate, stone and wood are used to build indigenous homes. Lime and mud are also used to paint the floors and walls as it helps in keeping the house cool and warm during summers and winters. Recently, private outhouse bathrooms equipped with western toilets, fresh towels, hand-made soaps and running hot water have also been added to the local homes to give a comfortable stay to their guests. After a day-long trek one can take delight in the mouth-watering Kumaoni cuisine.

An English-speaking local guide is always there to accompany throughout the trip.

Kumaon lies at the foot of Himalayas. Nanda Devi, Trishul, Panchchuli are some of the world-renowned peaks situated in its backdrop, and the region is bordered by Tibet and Nepal in its East and North.
